update - SUPER QUICK
let's call our elected officials together - a phone bank
This is a SUPER QUICK post! “Newsom dismissed Assembly Bill 86, a measure that would have tweaked language about health education standards for kindergarten through 8th grade.” https://www.lgbtqnation.com/2025/10/gavin-newsom-vetoes-gender-education-bill-declines-to-sign-other-trans-protections/
Just shaking my head! He does not want to take a stand on the simple fact that gender and sex are different. That there are trans folks in the world. FFS, let’s stand up for each other.
We already had this phone bank planned, so join us!

Description
The Gaylesta advocacy committee is hosting a virtual phone/email bank on Thursday, October 9th, from 1:00-2:00 pm. Together, we will call and email Governor Newsom, urging him to sign the 8 LGBTQ+ priority bills recently passed in the California legislature by the October 13th deadline. These crucial bills include protecting trans folks’ medical data and expanding access to gender-affirming HRT. Please sign up at the link below and join us in the Zoom room. There are also options to email.

1) Mindfulness Support Circle for Activists bit.ly/activistrestore
Activism asks a great deal of us: our time, our hearts, and our energy. In the midst of this work, it’s easy to lose connection with the deeper well of purpose that brought us here. We invite you to a mindfulness support group designed specifically for activists—a space to slow down, breathe, and reconnect with yourself and your intentions. This is a place to be present, to consider where your activism is rooted, and to nurture the clarity and compassion that fuels your commitment to change. Together, we will engage in guided mindfulness practices that support grounding, resilience, and renewal. This is not a space for debate or critique. There will be no expectations placed on one another—only the invitation to rest, reflect, and restore. We’re creating a safe enough space where activists can tend to their inner landscape, be witnessed with care, and replenish the energy needed to sustain their work in the world. Come as you are. All levels of experience with mindfulness are welcome. Let’s root our actions in presence, and our presence in purpose.
