Ink and Insight is an art-based therapeutic offering designed to support children in exploring their inner world through watercolor and mindful reflection. Rooted in expressive arts and emotional regulation practices, these sessions invite children to stay present with their process and express themselves verbally and non-verbally. You and your child will experience the satisfaction of engaging fully from beginning to end in these mindful art cultivations. If you already know you or someone you love would benefit, here is all the info.

Rather than focusing on the product, children are encouraged to explore color, shape, and movement as tools for emotional expression and self-connection. This helps them build internal trust and resilience—learning that their feelings, thoughts, and experiences can move, shift, and be held with care. The adults will also be along for the ride, and you will be encouraged to continue offering open-ended cultivations/art experiences with your kids at home.
Caregivers are encouraged to join with curiosity and openness. Supportive guidance will be offered to help adults respond to their child's art in affirming and non-evaluative ways—avoiding praise like "That's so good!" or "I'm proud of you," and instead modeling presence through responses such as "I see you put a lot of energy into that red area," "What part of this feels important to you?" and, most powerfully, " Tell me about what you are creating.” When we only think about “what it is,” we limit the expression our kids are offering us. Then we may wonder later, why won’t they listen to us? Maybe these two things are connected?
Together, we will create a space where creative expression becomes a shared language of connection, grounded in presence, respect, and emotional safety.
As a former preschool teacher and therapist, I am thrilled to share this therapy group. While parenting a preschooler, I often felt overwhelmed by the day-to-day challenges, finding invaluable support through connections with other parents.
Art activities became our sanctuary — a space for connection and expression beyond words. If exploring creativity feels like a stretch for you or someone you know, I would be honored to serve as a bridge to your family's enhanced early childhood creative experiences.
This group emerged from my professional expertise and personal experience. I created it with the understanding that parenting young children can be both beautiful and overwhelming. I invite you to join our circle of support and discovery.
I also have space for therapeutic parenting sessions in May, and am planning more groups for tweens and adults; stay tuned!
